Breaking the stigma of postpartum depression for Rosa Water

The Challenge

Throughout 2023, Rosa Water aimed to awaken and contribute to breaking the stigma surrounding postpartum depression and other emotional challenges faced by new parents, topics that are rarely discussed. The goal was to encourage an open discussion on these issues and provide support to new parents through educational and advisory activities, promoting better understanding and treatment of these problems in society. Additionally, efforts were actively made to raise awareness about the significance of the visiting nurses, as the primary point of contact between healthcare institutions and mothers and babies after leaving the maternity ward.

The Solution

To address the emotional complexities of early parenthood, the initiative was built around a multi-layered program combining public conversation, professional education, and content development. At its center was a high-profile panel discussion bringing together well-known public figures — including Nikola Rokvic and Bojana Barovic — alongside leading experts such as psychiatrist Dr. Oliver Vidojevic, pediatrician Dr. Mirjana Micovic, and visiting nurse Onjeg Djordjevic. A dedicated medical education program was developed for visiting nurses across Serbia, complemented by a specialized brochure on the topic. The Rosa online parenting school was expanded with new video content, while a new curriculum — developed with Dr. Vidojevic — was introduced in Rosa parenting schools nationwide. A fundraising campaign tied to product sales provided visiting nurses and health centers across the country with winter coats, aprons, and contactless thermometers.

The Outcome

The program generated significant momentum across media, professional, and community channels. With more than 80 media publications, it established a strong public presence around emotional wellbeing in early parenthood. On the professional front, 445 visiting nurses completed the training — representing 40% of Serbia’s entire visiting nurse workforce — while 10 new video materials were produced for the Rosa online parenting school. The new curriculum was introduced in 17 Rosa parenting schools across the country. Beyond these measurable outcomes, the initiative meaningfully strengthened brand awareness and positioned Rosa Water as a trusted presence in the lives of parents and healthcare professionals — a recognized leader in raising awareness and helping new parents navigate one of life’s most defining transitions with greater confidence.
